Building Better Days
Building Better Days (BBD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Maryland that donates a wide variety of toys to children in hospitals. BBD was founded by Ben, who had lymphoma when he was 12. He had access to toys while he was in the hospital for several weeks, and the toys helped him focus on productive play that kept his mind sharp. Now, BBD extends Ben’s wishes by raising funds to continue the work of donating toys to children. By doing this, children don’t only get an “out” from their long days in the hospital, but focus on activities that help them develop their motor skills, deeper thinking skills, social skills, and help brighten their days.
I was very happy to be able to volunteer for BBB to design the 8×5 x 11″ double-sided tri-fold brochure below and Avery 5163 printing labels to be placed on toys for hospitalized children. BBD provided copy, which I partially copied, partially re-worded, and also used to write new copy for the brochure. The stock images of the children (except for Ben) are royalty-free, commercial usage allowed, no-attribution required photos from Pexels.
The volunteer work I did for BBB provided much-needed marketing materials to enhance their professional image and brand and, insodoing, influence potential donors to contribute aid to their cause.
